Parish Council meetings are held at St Peter’s Church in Merton park on Tuesday evenings. The meetings start at 6:30 pm, and generally last for about one hour. Normally there are four meetings each year viz.
January | The precept for the following financial year is agreed. |
March | The draft accounts for the preceding year are reviewed. |
May | The Annual Meeting takes place. A new Chairman is elected. The signed-off accounts are available for parishioners to examine. The Annual Return is reviewed and signed-off. The Code of Conduct, Standing Orders and Financial Regulations are reviewed. |
September | The draft budget for the next financial year is reviewed. |
If any urgent business occurs outside this timetable, the Parish Council can also convene an extraordinary meeting.
An agenda has, by law, to be published three days before the date of a parish council meeting. Agendas and Minutes of meetings are published on the Village Notice Board, and also on the website.
