Parish Council Meetings

Parish Council meetings are held at St Peter’s Church in Merton park on Tuesday evenings.  The meetings start at 6:30 pm, and generally last for about one hour.  Normally there are four meetings each year viz.

January The precept for the following financial year is agreed.
March The draft accounts for the preceding year are reviewed.
May The Annual Meeting takes place. A new Chairman is elected.  The signed-off accounts are available for parishioners to examine. The Annual Return is reviewed and signed-off. The Code of Conduct, Standing Orders and Financial Regulations are reviewed.
September The draft budget for the next financial year is reviewed.

If any urgent business occurs outside this timetable, the Parish Council can also convene an extraordinary meeting.

An agenda has, by law, to be published three days before the date of a parish council meeting. Agendas and Minutes of meetings are published on the Village Notice Board, and also on the website.
